映画「コクリコ坂から」の試写という“お土産”のほかに「となりのトトロ」のイラストが描かれた色紙を大量に印刷して持参し、サイン会を行ったという。鈴木プロデューサーは「お客さんがあまりにも多いからサインを宮崎駿が1人で全部こなすのは大変な作業で、せっかく庵野が来ているから『トトロの下にサインをしろ』と言ったら『僕はトトロは関係ありません』と抵抗を示したんです。でも『新幹線代はおれが持っているんだから新幹線代くらい働け』と言ったんです（笑い）」と語り、総出でサイン会をしたことを明かした。
